My love
of animals and nature has inspired and directed my life
and work as an artist. I strive to capture the
personality and character of each animal or person in my
work. There is nothing like a front porch in the summer
with inviting chairs, children and their imagination, or
a still life that creates a mood.
One of the most important processes for creating a
watercolor painting is to replicate the shadows of light
and dark as it falls on the subject. All of the patterns
and designs become important in creating the mood and
character in the painting. I see my subjects in a more
graphic sense. I try to simplify them, yet capture their
essence. My unique style of painting is to not hold
back. I want to enjoy the potential of the medium
through the use of full color and crisp edges in
creating my compositions.
I hope that while you view my work you feel the love and
inspiration that I have for my subjects and my medium. |
